After looking at several threads while researching parts needed for the DOHC swap, some members have said it works, while others say you can't use them at all. I'm not trying to pick a fight, just looking for the correct answer.
Thanks guys.

It is not the best choice to use them especially when you can get the 64 DOHC gears for 50 bucks. Timing is very important and why use a part that makes you have to guess if you are right? Do it once, do it right.
^^agreed 100% :045:
No you cant use stock 63 gears
^^^^^Agree
I'm going to call bullshit on all of you. I'm using remarked 63 cam gears without any trouble at all. They are the exact same except the marks are off by bit. All you have to to is get the marks in the right spots, which is very simple. You can't screw up the timing since the belt and gears have teeth. You're off by a full tooth or you're not. There is no way to be off by a little bit.

No one said you cant use aftermarket gears. You need to relax and read before go flaming
I'm not using aftermarket gears, I'm using remarked stock 63 gears. The links are just to show how the gears marks are changed.
Not my intention to flame just calling out misinformation. It wasn't intended as a personal attack.
What we are saying or at least I am is that you shouldn't use the 63 gears unless you understand the full concept of how to remark them or properly time them. It is worth 50 bucks to get the correct ones so you don't guess.
I forgot about this thread.
Im gonna say OK and Im glad that you found a way to use the 63 gears although it changes the cam degree a bit, but you are experienced enough to do it.
For all noobies trying to do this with 63 gears, plus timing the balance shaft and remarked DOHC head, you CAN NOT hold TGC or anyone on this forum accountable if any severe damage occurs - its all on you.
