what cars to use for 4x4 swap

im thinking of doing a 4x4 or rwd swap on my 8g i get sometimes offers of some cheap mmc with good motors and stuff but screwed up exterior about a month ago i was offerd a 7g 4x4 for very little money.. and more or less whole car. can i do the 4x4 swap with that one.. or maby an eclipse? what should i be looking for?
and also plz include what i need to be whole from that car e.x. engine computer the engine it self transmission or just the drive-train(or what ever you guys call it)...
