HELP! something wrong with door panel

I took my door panel off to paint the arm rest and handle trim. Worked fine with the driver side. Took the passenger panel off and painted the trim and armrest,went to go put everything back on yesterday and IT WONT FIT BACK INTO PLACE. 😡😡😡
Its like theres a huge gap that shouldnt be there. I can attach the panel and screw everything in (except the door handle trim). What i mean by a gap,i can stick my finger between the window and the door panel. Someone please help. Ive taken the door panel off at least a dozen times to try to see if something is blocking it from being able to push all the way in but theres nothing. I cant put the door handle trim on because its like the hole to screw the trim to the door is too far away. Man fuck this car
