98 flashable ecu in 98 galant

so i tryed the 95 eprom ecu swap all went well just couldnt get timing to advance. since then i have traded the 95 eprom for a 98 flashable ecu. i already have evoscan and my friend has the open port 2.0 cable. what i am kinda wondering is do u follow jips ecu swap for the flashable ecus also. i also picked up a early cas and a later 1g cas. cant member which one i need to make it work. since this ecu is flashable couldnt i just flash it and load a tune that is similar to my 4g64 ecu but have it tuned for 450cc injectors instead of 275s. yet at the same time keep the distributor and what not until i go dohc. i have everything for the dohc swap now i just dont have time so if for now just flash that ecu so its just like my galant ecu except tuned to 450s???? somebody tell me this will work?
