ok so this this just pretty much a personal interest. I always just liked the way dual exhaust looks, but on a 2006 4cly other then just liking the look, would it hurt or help horsepower/torque or be exactly the same?

Wouldn't help or hurt the HP/tq as long all 3 cat converter still remain on the car. Only way it could decrease power if the pipes are oversize or too many 90 degree bends.
You'd want to do a fake dual exhaust, meaning split the catback right before the fuel tank to bring out the dual outlets.
Like silvertune said, you want to just do a dual exit exhaust, you will still get the look and no chance of side effects, plus you never know when you might want to throw boost to the 9G:thumb:
