Well i got my ride all put together today. its crazy, and wow, so intense, anyways, when i first started her. took a little turning over to get her to fire up, but it was really off pitch and running rough, of coursse VERY loudd cause i just had the heads ported and polished. But it seems just when the computer kinda tried to adapt, ( 30 seconds ) or so, It just went CLACK ! and stoped. This was pretty loud. Definatly didnt sound internal.... Im not sure, i was so scared.
so i took my wrench and spun the crak again, a few times, and i didnt hear any grinding at all. nothing abnormal. sounded fine, Just sounded like regular compression hissing.
So i turned it over, just real fast with the key. Sounded fine,. turned over fine, Hit the key just real fast a few more times. There is no Valves hitting or anything, im almost 100 % sure buy how loud the noice was it was external.
So i decided to try to crank her over again. It fired up and ran a second then CLANk again, Didnt sound like piston slap, didnt sound very good thought. Maybe a tensioner or something ? Only thing i could think of, is i didnt have a crak puller to properly tourqe the crank sprocket. I just air ratched it. Maybe i did it to tight ? and its grabbing the Cam posisioning seonsor plate ???? Any ideas ? id appreachate it before i go takin it apart to see whats going on.
I know the timing was ok, i checked everything like 50 times, the screwdriver, all the marks, the tensioner, everything was set. I was just calling it a night for tonight, ill pull the belts off, and look at the timing side.
i guess ill start buy compression checking everything tomarrow, just to 100 % verify the problem is not in the block or the heads, cause its clean, no head noise or block noise at all, just that loud Clack, Im not starting my car again till i find out what the hell that noice was.
