Blower motor problem
I was looking for the cabin air filter the other day. And after pulling out the glove box I saw the blower motor, which has a plastic door with a sponge stick to one side. So I started pushing it until it got loose. Initialy it was
firmly closed . Now the AC doesn't blow cold air anymore. I tried adding freon/sealer a few times but it only lasts for a couple of days at the most.
Could anyone help me fix this issue?
I was told that I need to remove the dasboard to access the blower motor and fix it. Also that I coud remove the blower motor by taking out the screws under itself. The screws on the back have a very small space for screwdriver or a ratchet.
Thank you,

the blower motor can be accessed underneath the glove compartment... u dont have to remove it. u were told wrong, u do not have to remove the dashboard. what u messed up was the vents that directs air and perhaps anything else that was linked to that vent, "if" thats all u touched

perhaps u blew a transistor, can u give us any more information? does the fan still work? does it blow hot air? etc...adding freon really depends on whats goin on, and can damage if u over charge the system... what model galant do u have?

I have a LS. The fan is still moving. And the air coming is not cold. It is warn. And here is a picture of the blower motor parts with a red arrow pointing to door that I broke.

It has automatic transmission. And here is the picture.

see my comment in your other post.

I was referring to the resistor/transistor in the way back of the compartment. if u have a manual ac u will have a 20 dollar resistor that can be replaced. If u have an automatic ac.... not talking about tranny.... u will need a 80 dollar replacement transistor. However u did say the fan works, soo that completely removes that out of the question...
perhaps its something else that u touched...

What I broke is the door with the sponge, behind the vent. And this last one is behind the wrapped cables. It is on top of the picture.

I was checking for the part at the dealer. And I think what I broke is either the "air valve" (9) or the "blower case" (5). See the picture below. Could someone tell me how to replace it?
Thank you

Mine was the wiring connector and I just had to re wire the motor. Right about where the number (10) is on the diagram 2 posts above. It cost me like $.85 and about 20 minutes of ripping apart/reassembling.
