2g ecu Question

So I was browsing ebay a week ago and came across a 2g ecu model number MD346675.
This is ecu is in the black plastic casing and was said to be the same as the 97 2gturbo ecu's...

My question is, could this ecu be eprom? I noticed in every picture of this ecu on the net it looks the same as mine.


However mine has a star at the end of the number ex. MD346675* . It is a little hard to described so I will take a better pic later... Just wanted to know if anyone here knew off hand if it was eprom....

EPROM only appeared in '95 2G ECUs. There would also be an E in the corner of the label. Only way to know for sure is to open the case and check for the EPROM chip in the corner.

If it is a 98 ECU then its not EPROM. But if it is an AWD ECU then it doesnt have a speed limiter like the FWD ECUs. Regardless $22 is a steal.

I feel Like a newb asking this but how do I open the case. I never opened a plastic case like this before and don't want to damage it.

Ya the guy said it came from a awd eclipse but I'am not sure the year. I think its 98-99

Definately not Eprom......but it is flashable.....from the dealer as of right now. The guys at Evoscan are still working on getting these ECU's to flash with the tactrix cable. So you may have gotten more of a bargain than you thought.
