Ok I see to much time and money going into this ...... If I do a dohc swap how much faster will the car be ? And how much sp will I get? I have a 2.O dohc sitting on the side from my last car I shouldn't be talkin about it here but from all the feed back I got from everyone , it sounds discuraging to even attempt the swap , if I coulda found the necessary parts to go ahead and make it awd I woulda done it already but I see no hope , DAMMIT! Lol
I'll post a pic up of both my engine bay and one of a 6A13TT engine.
That way you can see what modification you would need to do for either a 6A12 or a 6A13
Dude, DO IT! Yeah, sure it'll be all kinds of headache. You'll spend way more money than the car will ever be worth. You'll have to do any and all maintenance and repairs in the future yourself. Try taking a 6a13 swapped Galant to a mechanic. All you'll get is dumb looks. Even from a Mitsubishi dealer if you're in North America. But, I say it's all worth it. You should do it anyway. All you need is money, time, and determination.
And if these will help any...

Thank you for the numbers! really appreciated!
sorry i havent been able to reply back on my decission guys, an engagment came up, lol
so my research and development will have to end for now,
so now im stuck with the 6a13tt engine and tranny in my garage hhahahaha
IDK how much youve spent so far, but the 4g64 has a lot of potential. You could ve spent the money on fully build engine and tranny.
Well I have a 6A12TT Galant VR4
I will trade you my 6A12TT for a 6-bolt 4G63 if that's what you fancy.... :smt006
back on topic: the engine mounts on the 6A is different from the 4G for obvious reasons. However, the 6A12 with the correct mounts and brackets will mount up to a 7G E56A chassis front subframe no problem (E84A VR4 shares the USDM E56A front subframe) and the tranny casing shares the part number with a 2G Eclipse (D33A) but the clutch casing does not match so you will need a 6A12TT + its clutch housing (bell housing) to make the two mate. If the 6A12 package that you are looking at has transmission bolted to it, then you can use the bell housing already in that package and make that work with your FWD tranny.
that said, the 6A12TT WILL mount to whatever transmission that you are going with now if you want FWD 240bhp torquesteer monster. So a transmission hunt is not necessary. I know this because there is the "VR" grade in Japan that's V6 FWD non-turbo using the same 6A12 mule. Given all the hardware is intact (full harness, ECU, fuel lines etc) the 6A12 should come to life with very little trouble.
an AWD swap will be more of a problem for you.
oh and I just read you want to put a 6A13TT into it. Heh good luck with the reversed engine + transmission positioning. That will NOT work without some serious fabrication. LOL 6A13
no seriously LOL what?
But can someone inform this man that the 6A13 and 6A13TT is installed in reversed direction? Much like how EVO3 motors and EVO4 motors have very very little in common even when they are both 4G63?:smt062
Mitsubishi came up with all these crap all of a sudden around 1996 to screw everyone over....and they have succeeded. :smt019
im half way thru doing wiring for an fto
orig enigne was 6a12
new engine is 6a13tt
should have it finished over next few nights
both cars are right hand drive
orig was auto
and new one is manual
so throw out all the auto stuff
simplifies the harness heaps
