regular oils are fine if the 3000k interval is kept.
otherwise go synthetic to extend the oil change interval.
Our car's aren't sports cars that run most of their time in high revs nor does it require synthetic to run. Its basically goes by the rule of your car requiring regular fuel and the owners put in higher octane to think it runs cleaner or better...
Overkill but not a bad idea if you intend to keep your car the next 20 years.
i put valvoline synthetic
nothing but royal purple or amsoil and K&N filters in both of my Gs
I race mine, so I'm gonna keep using RP and changing it at 3k. But your right in the sense that conventional oil is fine, but the determining factor of when the oil needs to be changed is in how saturated with soot it is, as the oil saturates before it actually starts to break down. This can take twice what the reccomended interval is, but its not a good idea to push it as the time it takes to reach saturation is inconsistant. Synthetic Oils only saturate at a marginally higher leval but the additives and everything else in them is what really comes into play.Quote:
