well at least he has built a few 4g63t motors. But it seems everything he touched on this just kinda got fucked. but my toehr friend Kevin really really knows mitsubishi's. he dont act like he does, but he knows everything about them. Im draining my antifreeze, going to pull my waterpump off, install a new gasket, on my new pump, he only applied cilicone to 1 side of the gasket lol. so the other side, it just kinda soaked threw, and is comin out threw the cracks of the paper. So im going to replace the gasket, reset the timing, and install my new camshaft sensor, with my temporarly modified camshaft sending cylinder ;) i just bet it back in place, and cured the bumpy part with a sander, and then spin tested it at 5,000 rps, looks good and straight, so we going to try it, if it fucks this sensor up,.then thank you underrated on the hookup for my sensors ! and if this works out all peachy, Thanks again, underrated, i still very much need the new housing, and a 100 % good camshaft cylinder, cause about 4,500 rpm.s on a router, it kinda gets wobbly, at least, a little tiny tiny bit, but that is enuf to fuck some shit up in that cylinder thing, i should be good as long as i dont go over 4500- 5000 rpms, but i gotta break in my motor anyways, so its better this way, gives me a Reason Definatly not to hot rod it :) either way, if it fires and runs, i will know this is 100 % my problem, and if it fucks up again, i would be happy knowing my car will run monday when i recieve all the new parts =D wish me luck guys, i sure hope this fixes it, But hey, it ran untill it hit the sensor, then wouldnt stay running till it hit the sensor again, and then it would only backfire, after it hit the sensor twice.

Well she runs, like shit, its like someone has there had over my throttle body, im sending it off to my friend who knows what hes doing. did a good job of putting it together. But wasnt good enuf, or something, i messed up on 2 water pump seals now, or for some reason, antifreeze is leaking from my timing cover. so it has to be the gasket. But its running HORRIBLE. like, hol d the gast down, and 10 seconds later, its all like, at 4,500 rpm boggin down.

Some Videos i took, i dont know if they will post on here, ill try

Let me know what ya think, my friend has a snap-on 2500 ECU reader + controler, his dad paid 25,000 for it. . he gets that thursday, and we will be able to see whats going on for sure, even if itwasnt throwing a code, but its throwing a code. so ya. This hurts, it just kinda dies out as you can see, and i went and shut it off in that last video.... i dont know, im stumped. maf is good, EGR is good, only thing is i have that midfified camshaft cylinder, but it is perfectly cemitrical, excpet there is a 1/2 a MM we had to sand off the camshaft cylinder to make it 100 % perfect, Which the sensor is magnatec ? so maybe it is just this cylinder ? let me know hat ya all think,

It's the damn cylinder already, don't run your car until you replace it. I don't think you understand how sensitive these magnetic sensors are to minor discrepancies.

hell yea man, i took the old one back and i got the whole set coming from a guy :) for a damn good price, im going to replace the whole thing, Any good ideas to connect a water pump ? My water pump is leaking, badly, i need to figure out how to get it to stick while putting it on the Rubber O Ring . I did my water pump this time, but its leaking bad from behind it somewhere, antifreeze out the timing cover, monday when i get the parts, she will run TITS ! hehe, i can feel it, its just that sensor then :) goodie gum drops, maybe some pointers for getting a gasket right would be sweet man, this is the first gasket ive EVER done, and i suck at gaskets i guess, lol. Cant get the water pump one down, I did use
Permatex Non ahrdening form a gasket
    Now i bought

    permatex
Aviation gasket sealer. its got a nice little brush,

i thought, maybe im putting to much on or something. i dont know, but its leakin bad

... I've got a metal gasket on my water pump and that's it. If you're supposed to use RTV, you need to form a bead. Check the service manual.

hell yea, well thanks to underrated ;) my part will be here Monday ;) it was just throwing off a P0340 which is a chamshaft sensor error B . i bet ya its the canshaft sending cylinder that i modfied to work, i just wanted the car to run, to prove that the error was on the Sensor, not something else. Which it was, and even my experienced mechanic friend was like... Its something with fuel or air, cus it was chuggin out bad when ever you even tried to give it gas. I said, what about that cylinder, and he said, i dont think its timing....

But i had a hunch, i want and rented a OBD II Reader, and it poped up with a canshaft sensor error, but thats a new sensor, So , its the cylinder the sensor reads from, i know it, cause i modded it. But there is a good saying i always go buy. Everything happens for a reason.

The first time rob did my timing belt. And the main hydolic tensioner on the T-Belt was not even hand snug at all. It was just placed in there. So if i wouldnt have fucked up the cam sending cylinder, and it wouldnt of hit that sensor. I would have been on my marry little way down the road, With a death clock for my pistons and valves.

I have personaly went over every inch of this car now, made shure to have double checked all of robs work. Everything from the power steering tensioner . ( which was not only loose, was completly off, and against the car. To the timing belt cover only having 3 of 5 bolts, and not bieng tighted properly. to the oil pump bieng 300 Degrees in advance. he said ( oh it will only vibrate, and prolly not much, thats all that does. Well i dont want it to bvibrate at all, i want it to run smooth as a kitten, with a nice RAWR !

Well thank all of you in your help, i woulda never been able to get my car running witout you guys, and i would still be fucked... Its still not running right, but im confident once i redo this gasket, and get them parts from underrated. This shit will be good to go, with a ported head, and nice new valves, hopefully wont get 6 mpg any more, with a bent valve. I dunno, we will see, im in no rush, im doing this 100 % solo status. And thats the way it will be, my friend was going to tow it out of here, but im going to pull her in the garage, somewhere warm, and just get it done right ;)

Thank you all again, yourt great, i took the time to write a nice tutorial on tining lenses, ill do more, and help people on here alot more, i only did it when i could, and now i feel im much more able ot help others out.

Dude, i been reading this since it was first posted and might i say this shit is hurting my head. Did you know what the hell you were doing before you attempted this? Mitsu
are just like a honda in instances of the timing belt/crank........You need both the Crank PS and the Cam PS. They form like voltron and work somewhat together. You keep playing the trial and error game and eventually will fuck up you ride. Stop letting people you think know about cars touch your ride if they no nothing about it, cuz you will fuck up your ride.

When you modified your engine did you check everything and double check everything to make sure it was running in some sort of fac spec? After its all said and done if you can ever get the car working and running right at least for awhile. I suggest you double check your timing and make sure everything is right before you get happy.

Congrats on the hard work tho..

Well i wont lie, when i started this i knew nothing, And thats one of the first things i learned was dont let anyone touch your ride, But I do know a thing or 2 now lol, ive completly tore apart and rebuilt my motor, and i understand it and respect it, But nobody is going to touch my ride, except me, well and kevin, but hes a ASE certified Mitsu mechanic. I definatly have alot to learn still. But i finaly have it down pat, and the timing is on. 100 % i just did it myself :) but i guess there is learning the hard way, and this way is, But you know, i was prepared to blow this motor up, i knew i would learn enuf from it to build my evo motor, one way or another. Working I4 or No Working I4 :) i wanted to figure it out. And i did :) eheh, i know what makes her tick ! next im going 4g63 7 bolt head. and eliminating the balancing shafts. bump it up to a forged crank and s3x rods. and all the goodies.

Well i got my parts today :( Most of them are great, and im sure are perfect. But i dont know if this Reluctor is going to work. its way smaller than my old stock one, anyone have any ideas if this will condflict ? Or is my ECU going to go HUH ? Unless the signal is the same, and transmitted buy the sensor, In that case, i got the whole set together, thanks to underrated, im just not sure if it will work !!!

Correction, not smaller in size, the Gaps are larger in the new one, " Smaller Sized pertrusions the magnetic sensor reads from.Things never work out in my favor :( damn.. Should i try it anyways ?
