I'm really sad that I missed the open house... BabyG is looking good. Can't wait to see how much power she puts down.

Im liking the blue with the silver. Your car is fresh man.

Only sonata f5m42 swapped. N/A build in motion.

I cant catch a break. BabyG is down for the count. Popped the HG on the dyno and turbo is blown as well (Bought used after a rebuild, I am guessing it was a bad rebuild). Got the motor back together and running but the turbo is donezo. I'm pretty discouraged at this point but dont count her out just yet. We might disappear for a couple months (I have to recover from all the money I just threw into a bonfire) but we will be back.

Side note: anyone doing a DOHC swap, be cautious with using the OEM 4g64 head gasket. I bought mine straight from Mitsu and it was too thin. The noise we were chasing actually ended up being the tops of the pistons slamming into the head. Luckily, the Wisecos have some deep valve reliefs and no valves were damaged. The damage to the head was minimal and the motor is now back together quiet as can be. (used the Cometic 4g63/64 head gasket) So BE CAREFUL with the OEM head gasket. It might not be the right head gasket for this set-up.

Well that sucks. You cannot catch a break, damn. Well, at least the motor is good, so that's a slight break.

That's tuff Jigz, I hope you get it sorted out and not give up. I know some times it makes you wanna throw in the towel.

Ouch man. Like XD said, just don't give up. As you planned, take a break. Recover. Gather your thoughts and plan the comeback with a fresh mentality. Time to focus on the little things.

I'm curious to ask. Is the Oem gasket an MLS gasket??

Yes the OEM gasket is an MLS. But it is way too thin for my set-up. It could be part how much they took off the head and block but for my motor it didnt have enough room.

Makes sense. I know the cometic is thicker. Now I wonder how much thicker is the felpro compared to Oem.

I was speaking to Brandon and he is using the felpro. Apparently it's the same thickness as the cometic.

I'm my. Search I was only able to find the cometic 87 or 87.5 bore. No standard bore. Did u get the 87mm??

It's good to know that Brandon is using the felpro. That's what I planned on using.

Depending on if my wife goes for it, I may be able to get her driving before this seasons over if I can find a evo9 turbo with a 10.5 hotside for the cheap.
