Are you using a walbro 255? If so I'd be more than willing to bet you were at the limits there of. 10.7 AFR's with that kind of power on stock fuel lines, 255 would be about capped out.

I'm on a walbro 450 with a -6 feed and a -6 return up to the firewall. Then stock return to the tank.

And thanks for the words of encouragement fellas. I've got a lot of work to do but unfortunately with the holidays coming up babyg may need to be pushed to the back burner for a while.

Yeah man it's the nature of the beast. You mod cars and you risk this. Look at it as a blessing. That blown motor could have saved your life. Who knows. Somethings are out of your control. I personally believe everything happens for a reason. Some of those reasons we never get to see or understand in our lifetime but there was a purpose. So there might be a reason why you have to put it off until later.

Yeah everything happens for a reason. I'm just trying to stay positive About it you know. I'm pretty sure I can replace just that piston and clean up the cylinder wall with muriatic acid to get the melted aluminum off the top of the cylinder. The cross hatch is still in good condition but I figure I would run a ball hone in it to freshen it up so the new rings in that cylinder break in properly. I have to call wiseco tomorrow and see if a replacement piston is something I can order.

Got the injectors flow tested, and they all checked out good. I am scratching my head for sure. Ordered a piston and getting the head sent out to get new valves on cylinder 4 and cleaned up, decked, etc.

Only thing that I believe may have happened is that the Piston developed a hairline crack that went unnoticed when the pistons was hitting the bottom of the cylinder head due to the wrong head gasket and at 26psi it broke off and killed the plug. Though this may be far fetched, idk what else would cause this catastrophic damage.

I was using the Cometic recently but the time before it was the OEM 4g64 headgasket. The OEM gasket caused the tops of the pistons to hit the bottom of the head. I mentioned it a couple pages back from last time.

The cometic is three times the thickness of the stock head gasket so I highly doubt it that the head gasket was the issue.

I WAS SAYING that the pistons may have cracked from before and we didnt see it putting it back together. I didnt say the head gasket was the issue THIS TIME, I was saying the old head gasket that caused the pistons to hit the bottom of the head may have led to the piston cracking and finally broke off at 26 psi of boost. Like I said far fetched but the injectors are good so I am scratching my head here.

Did u check the rod bolts and made sure they didn't come loose which allowed the piston to contact the head??
