The projected end result is enough motivation, but things are slowing down a little bit here while knee-deep in the middle of it.

Now you have to go to boost for boobies. Seeing some other cars that are done and obtaining glory will motivate you. At least, it motivates me... Ahoohoohoo.

    Back to work.

First coat has been laid down. Another coat is in order, most likely tonight. Then I can move things out of the way to allow the front left corner of the bay to be painted.

Up close preview. Still one coat remaining for this area.

These showed up today as well. The only hold up is Megan Racing. Replacement camber plates are 4-6 weeks out.

I have to ask, are you keeping the bay black?

Why did you have to remove the radiator support?

It was slightly damaged in my accident back in '07, so the heads, grille, and bumper never quite lined up like they should have after that. It became even more evident when I installed the JDM front end, so I figured now would be the best time to finally replace it.

Yep, might as well while you have everything out. When your rad support comes in, put a coat of paint on the under\inner side of it. It will last a lot longer rust wise that way.

Did you have kyb's before? What was your suspension setup previously?

I previously had gr-2's and s-techs. They will be going on the Eclipse. Maybe even tomorrow depending on how much free time I have.

    A little update here.

The bay is fully painted now. The Walbro 255 is installed.

I also received a picture of my heads last night, thanks to silvertune. Ported, cleaned up, and valves are in. Things are once again in motion to get this thing running before long.

I've kicked around the idea of DOHC V6 for awhile when I was wanting to twin turbo. That was before reality kicked in, but if I ever threw everything off the deep end and went for it, it would be very possible. Silvertune and I went through a few donor vehicles and have every detail of a DOHC swap ironed out, just in case.

If you do it, i'll be watching you lol. I need to a find a v6 galant. I miss 4 doors, i don't care if its 1000 and doesnt' run. I like to tinker, and you have shown me what the v6 can do. any vehicles that came with a 75 with a 5 speed?

Unfortunately there never were any here. The closest you'll get is a 4g Eclipse. 75 mivec with the 6-speed.

    Silvertuner does great work :)

  20. #880
    Indeed.

Here is a more recent picture of the heads. Now with valve springs installed.

The engine torn down as far as necessary. Just about ready for the soon to be assembled heads.

And the rest of the car in it's current state.
