garbage.
Came across a website selling nice wheels and I came across this one.
Size: 18 x 7.5
Offset: 40
Bolt Pattern 5 x 114.3 (picture is example)
Finish: Carbon Fiber
Brand: Xtatik
Never heard of this wheel before but like the carbon fiber finish since I was going to later get a Carbon Fiber hood. What does the Galant-forum think of this wheel or is this another wheel to stay away from?
garbage.
I never heard of the brand. Only the carbon fiber caught my eye... Thanks, I'll keep looking..did fine some Motegi and some Enkei's wheels that caught my eye.
yeah those ones with the red strip have a carbon fiber "look" coating on them. The same stuff like Nytrus does, just like the OEM CF trim in the 8g, its not real CF by any means.

report says the All carbon fiber for now are most likely for carshow only and the 50/50 FA/CF version will be for reg use....and theres another company http://www.dymag-usa.com/automotive/ that makes a pair with magnesium cores

Those carbon fiber wheels are made by a company called Dymag. They make a carbon fiber complete wheel, carbon fiber and magnesium wheel, and a all magnesium wheel. They typically make wheels for Ducati's, and all the major racing bikes AMA, FIA, and World Superbike.
You could easily run them for the street, but you bust or break one and its $5000 to replace. Not worth it on a daily vehicle at all. Its niche market stuff when it is real carbon fiber, it ain't for the faint of heart or light of wallet.
Doesn't Weds Sport make one too?
are you referring to the OP wheels or the ones Reelax posted because those are made by Weds Sports http://www.weds.co.jp/english/products/ and arent publicly released yet they are special order only,
Heres a link to a story with video on a Carbon Wheel made in newzealand thats actually being run on the 2010 Ultima Aero by Shelby SuperCars.

just think, you hit one pothole with a cf rim, bye bye rim/tire/maybe car. =X
They prob have a trade back program since the damaged one can be broken down and reused to make a new rim. Or at least they should have that program......fuck we have it in the army for our FG hoods on the hummers
those are sick rims!!with sick price too
