    V6 TB/Misfire/IAC Issue

Okay folks... Here it goes. I need help, again.

My G started misfiring under WOT from idle, and then when cruises fine after that. The misfire and stumbling (for lack of a better term) is random as well.

I do know that I have a P0505 CEL, it's for Idle Air Control Malfunction or something like that.

I will be pulling the spark plugs tomorrow...

    Thanks :)

When my v6 was acting up, I just changed the spark plug wires, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor. Sound like you might have a wire that arc's off of your engine. That was my problem anyway.

I also noticed, when I did the distributor. I had some major buildup on the caps contact points where the rotor meets the cap. I would recommend changing all of this if you haven't yet. I think its recommended to do it with the timing belt intervals.

When you cleaned the iac you just wiped it off with a clean dry rag right and you didnt get it wet.

I hope so... It was awhile ago. Car ran fine for a few days. It was so dirty I had to turn the idle down with the screw.

wow that is low i would replace the iac that will cause the drop in the rpms and your CEL is on so that means your iac is faulty.

I would pick up a can of carb cleaner and use it on the IAC if you decide to mess with it again. It Literally desolves foreign material in it.

An iac will run about $300 or so...

I've also tested it and according to somedata, it's within spec.

Yeah the spark plugs look shot. You are going to have to get an iac if you want to use the v6 throttle body. The light is coming on so your iac is bad.
