I have one in storage from my old daily with 175k but I tore it down today to inspect the crank lol.

I have been holding on to these for years.

No sense in uploading all 8 pics of all rods and pistons lol.

I bought the pistons used years ago. Have minor scratches I can buff out. But according to my scale (which doesn't have fractions) one piston and one wrist pin is way off from the rest. Once I get a better scale I will confirm the weight and then decide weather I wanna pay to get the last piston shaved to match or buy a new one.

Not many machine shops around here. I'll consider it as an option depending on the price.

Weighed the rods and pistons to have an idea of how much apart they are

Had a talk with Manley. The heavy piston and light wrist pin are getting replaced with another one to match the rest then I'll balance them to the lightest one. I bought then used and I think the previous owner had the work done by a shop so I think they may have replaced a piston for whatever reason.

Yeah. No balance shaft poly motor mounts. Yeah. Vibration on a daily. Need to put locktie on every single bolt. If not. Say good bye to them.

I have poly mounts on the way. Contemplating balance shaft delete, but I don't want the engine shaking so bad it feels like a misfire or something. Is the balance shaft delete worth it?

It depends. On your goals. It will vibrate for sure if is a daily you wont like it. The delete will eliminate that famous balance belt that always goes if not keep on checked. And will free up more rotating capability and lb. But like i said it depends on your goals.

Honestly my goal right now is just to get it running lol. The next goal is just a little more get up and go. But I have the engine out now so figured it's a good time to delete them. I don't have plans for anything crazy

It's really not that bad. I have my motor solid mounted with those deleted and dash vibrates. Could be because I have no bushings on the front end. It's tolerable. If you do do it at least balance the internals

For non turbo applications it's no power gains.

The reason my oil return came loose twice is because the balance shaft delete accompanied with poly mounts and the slightly heavier cams.

Like isaurio said. Locktite is your friend after a balance shaft delete and poly mounts.

Well since I have no immediate plans for forced induction, I'll hold off for now. I have to wait and see the condition of my new engine so I can see what still needs to be ordered. So far I just ordered plugs, wires, mounts, timing belt, and a clutch kit

    Poor car.

    Small update:

Took the block and head and crank to the shop. Head has cracked valve guides. Cranks must be cut due to heavy scratches.

I went back to him with my other block and other head. Block is getting bored so it's getting punched 0.020" over.

Changing the Manley low compression pistons and going with a set of Wiseco pistons to give me a 9.5:1 CR instead.
