UGH so my car was doing that "crank but no start when hot" shit again and I read somewhere on a dsm forum that It could be leaky capacitors in the ecu
So I took mine out and yeah...

First thing I noticed was that it was replaced by the original owner on March 10 2008 and it does indeed have a leaky capacitor....

These are what normally go bad. I forgot what all of them are but the black box thing is the main reason why the capacitor goes out

Got my "new" GS ecu in today!

Oh my god the difference is night and fucking day! Started right up sat real pretty right at 750-800 rpm even when i turned the lights and A/C on at the same time! No more juttering when maintaining cruise speed, smooth acceleration, Car is fucking fantastic now I'm so pumped to drive her around again. Also I can tell I will now get better than 230ish MPG on a full 16.9gal tank of gas!!

Something irritating though on my way home from my test drive I hooned it in 1st and 2nd, car was fine then while just cruising home like 3 minutes later my check engine light came on.
Pulled over checked engine bay nothing looked wrong, sounds fine, idled fine, revved fine,isn't smoking, oils fine, drove fine, starts right back up fine, everything. So I disconnected my batt to see if it was just me hooning it for that bit that threw the CEL.

Anyone have any thoughts?

And remember I can't go to vatozone to get a CEL read I have to find my multimeter to do it.

I finally code the CEL figured out. It's a "code 43 EGR Malfunction" So I swapped out the two solenoids from my parts car and so far no CEL light!
Also finally got new tires.

Next on my list is new rotors and pads for the gsx 2-pot calipers and SS lines all around.

I have that same CEL but mine flips because I have a test pipe in place of my cat lol

Havent updated this in awhile soo here are some pictures.

Put my Vibrant bottle resonator in place of the cat, you can also see the 6inch or so extension needed for a 2g GST catback to fit a 7g. Got rid of the civil war cannon for a stock-ish looking Vibrant dual tip with slanted and rolled tips.
