In need of major help.

Ok so I have an 02 v6 and I blew my transmission this weekend. Now I have looked over the info on the 5spd swap and I have done it to my 2.4 however the sticky said that you need to change the passenger axle....why....all I can find for axles does not specify auto or manual...do I need to change it? Second question seems stupid but I have to ask...the local junk yard has 2 5spd 4 cyl. Are the shift cables the same for both cars or do I need to get them from a v6. Please help I need to get parts asap

Axles are the same only difference is if you have ABS or not. It's the intermediate shaft that is different size, you need one from a manual Eclipse. IIRC shift cables are the same for both the V6 & i4

shift cables are the same. mine are straight out of an eclipse 2.4
other identical parts:

shifter
tower
cables
clutch pedal
clutch fluid reservoir
clutch fluid line

maybe the master and slave but im not certain, got mine new

you're gonna need several parts from the 3g manual including:
intermediate shaft
starter plate
gearbox (obviously)
manual transmission mount


intermediate shaft part number: #MR357370
Starter plate part number: #MD309916

Where are you at that they have 2 5spd 4cyls? I'm having trouble locating one and it's the last thing I need for my swap.

I am in ma. It is everetts auto parts in brockton ma. I was there and grabbed the shift assembly, cables, pedals, and reservoir. I was going to get a new dash but only 1 galant.
