I'd surely upgrade the sway bars before getting the D3 kit.

I did some more reading about the RMDSM bars and even though alot of people like the setup, there are alot of people saying that upgrading the front bar is not worth ideal and that you get a false sense of good handling. Even RRE states that. Click here and read that thread. I think I'm just going to stick with the Addco rear sway bar and I'm probably going to get the Energy Suspension bushings for the stock front sway bar.

i've been contemplating in getting the rear sway bar. but would u recommend getting it w/just a stock suspension set up? can u explain the difference and feel from the stock set-up vs. this one? thanks.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother getting a rear sway bar with stock springs and shocks/struts. With the stock setup, you probably aren't going to be able to go fast enough around corners for you to get the full advantage of having a thicker rear sway bar.

I can't speak on the RMDSM sway bars, just the Addco rear sway bar. With the thicker Addco rear sway bar (as opposed to stock), I can stay on the gas around tight curves, then accelerate much quicker when exiting the turn. Before the Addco rear sway bar on the same curves, I used to have to ease off the gas, which obviously slowed me down and I had less speed coming out of the curve.

That's a good question. I'm not sure how I clear most speed bumps and such, but I have scraped the front bar a couple of times. Although, when I did, I still had my old Progress spring setup. With my current Tein SS-P setup, I don't think I've ever scraped the bars except maybe once. A couple weekends ago when I was in Maryland for a TGC meet at a Mitsubishi dealership, I started going over a speed bump and started to hear something scrape, so I backed up and went a different way. I'm not sure if it was the front bar that was scraping or the center member under the engine or what? I've cleared bumps like that one before, but I think it's because I approached it straight on instead of sideways.

The RMDSM bars will fit. It fits the Stratus coupe, but not the sedan because the Stratus coupe is built from the same platform as the 8G Galant and 3G Eclipse, but the Stratus sedan is built on a different platform.

Hey Danger DanJ, this is kinda off topic but it does relate to the suspension topic....do u know if the JDM lower tie bar fits perfectly onto the USDM 8g w/no mods? Thanks

What JDM lower tie bar? If it's something you saw on ebay that says JDM, don't believe the hype, it's more than likely not JDM.

If you want a rear lower tie bar, any one from a 2g Eclipse FWD, 7G Galant or 3G Eclipse will fit. Atleast, all of the ones with the adjustable ends will fit. There is one from Tanabe that is one solid piece and I'm not sure if it will fit or not. I was going to test it out, but a rear lower tie bar is pretty much for looks on our cars. The crossmember that the tie bar bolts to is pretty solid.

embarrassingly enuf, i almost did believe the hype. I just had to ask the question bcuz i wanna improve my suspension a lil, so any info is of great help. Thanks for the help.

Shit Dave I'm surprised you haven't scraped that much... I've scraped a bunch of times... thats because the speedbumps at my school are like mountains.. I might even have to raise my teins a little.. thats why.. but still with them raised alittle I still get some scraping... I also checked the other day to see how bad the bar is damaged.. and from what i can see is that the ends are kind of deforming where I had to screw in to the chassis..

But anyways back to the topic.. Dave.. would you rather get this RMDSM bars or would you rather just get the Addco.. since from what you are saying the fronts are completely useless... in your opinion that is.. cuz I'm highly contemplating on getting one of these bars... either one should do the job perfectly..

What is the Addco bar cost compared to the other set, if you can get the 2 for a little more than the Addco bar, why not? Although the front does look like a huge pain in the butt to do.

the addco sells for like 160. while the RSDM kit sells for like 325 for both bars.

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

I agree, just get the rear one....the front isn't worth it.

From all the posts I've read about the RMDSM bars, some people say having that front bar is great and others say it's useless. I really couldn't say for sure since I've never tried the RMDSM bars, but my feeling is that with the RMDSM rear bar being thicker than the Addco rear bar, having the front RMDSM bar kind of cancels out the extra thickness of the rear one and makes it like having just the Addco rear bar anyway. But, that is just my theory. RRE seems to think that adding a thicker front bar is a bad idea, and that's good enough for me. I wouldn't mind having just the rear RMDSM bar though, seeing that it's thicker than the Addco rear bar.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I got an email from RER Motorsports and there are a limited number of RMDSM sway bar kits on sale right now. Click Here
