98 Galant OBX Header

hey what do you all think about this OBX header

Do I still have to do DOWN PIPE..

I can't see the pics in the auction but..... the pic on the left looks like it's for an 8g header. If it is an 8g header then you will have an issue with the down pipe rubbing the oil pan. Yes, I know the auction says it's for a 7g Galant but the last time I checked with OBX they didn't make a header for the 7g. Anyway...it will bolt to the head fine but you will need a down pipe to be made. After it's all said and done you'll be several hundred dollars in the hole for a header which may give you at best 7-12hp. Why not save that money for a homemade turbo setup?

Is ssautochrome bad too? I've heard good and bad things about them.

so guys these headers are not worth buying.


correct me if i am wrong but dont the 2g eclipse n/a header works for out car, all we have to do is modify the downpipe :? or something like that

if the eclipse was a rag top. the hard top has a different motor

thats the same thing you'd have to do to the 8g downpipe.

i saw a picture of an ssautochrome turbo in a thread on dsmtuners.com
it looked nice and shiny,
the cast aluminum compressor housing looked great too.
both piecies of it.
thats right, under boost, this turbo split in half. i think it was at 12 psi.
ssautochrome is crap.
the good thing about them is they are cheap.
the bad thing about them is they are cheap...

That happened on a dsm too? Damn it happened on a honda as well. I remember reading it on www.honda-tech.com

also guys i dont plan on running turbo with this header all i plan to do is fix the exhaust so u gain some hp i will eventually change the engine to a 4g63t engine thats when i will have a turbo set up but for now i just want to have something look nice and give me some hp

a turbo manifold is useless on a n/a car...the only 4g64 2g eclipse is a turbo.
