    performance cv shafts?

the cv shafts on my 99 V6 have gone bad. they rumble during acceleration and cornering. so since i will have them out anyway i figured i would put in a set of performance ones. does anybody know who sells them for our car?

    Mitsubishi Dealerships...

Custom would have to come from a custom shop and you'll spend 1k each...for no performance improvement

The driveshaft shop in N. Carlolina. They do the axles for all the imports that do drag and they also have street applications.
    Check it out: www.driveshaftshop.com

Forget the fact that none of the turbo V6 guys have had to change there CV shafts. You might as well purchase some performance radiator covers, and muffler bearings.

And for that matter, your CV shafts are more than likely 101% fine. Its your cv joint/boot that needs replacing.

But hey, when your need performance CV shafts, you need performance CV shafts...

all you need are a couple of axle shafts... getting new ones from mitsu will run about 700 a piece.

just go to your local NAPA and get some... they'll be about a third that price.

my cv joint boots are fine, i checked them. and that wouldnt explain the rumbling during acceleration and cornering that shakes the car like crazy.

and by the way Jet Black, there is such a thing as a muffler bearing, on the 3000gt and dodge stealth there is a bearing on a door/baffle in the muffler that opens up during WOT and stays shut during normal driving to keep the noise level down. and some ricer mufflers have a little fan/turbine in them and those ride on what is also called a muffler bearing.

i looked into getting axles made last year. i didnt go thu with it because i never broke the stock ones. the driveshaft shop NY gave me an estimate of $750 for a set of high performance axles rated for 500whp.

Check your hubs, maybe you have bad bearings...and no ricer parts can be officially called parts. Kinda like calling the "Tornado" a turbo because of the air turbine effect....

I think your getting a bearing mixed up with a valve.

An electoniclly actuated diverter valve is what resides in the VR4 mufflers (aka active exhaust). And as far as I know, the valve does not require a bearing of its own to operate (could be wrong though).

And like ChicagoGTZ said, check out your hubs. If nothing else tear the whole thing suspension apart (always a pain, but almost always helps to diagnose a problem relativly quickly).
