Ehhhh just depends on your taste. 2.4L would give you more lower end power, quicker spool ups, ect. 4g63t 6bolt would be able to handle 400-450whp stock, but is only a 2.0. For $1100 you can get a stock rebuilt motor from www.karking.com(just missing acessories which mostly can be used from the Galant).

To build your 4g64 bottum end it would cost ~$800-1500 depending on parts. Then you would want to do a DOHC headswap, cause we all know SOHC isnt as tuneable as DOHC. From there it would be just about the same electircal work as it would be to run a 4g63t.

Me, if I had the money and downtime, I would prefer a built 4g64 DOHC. I have a 4g63t and cant complain about spoolup on my 14b. Just going to be your style, both have proven potential.

    2.4

i think i stick with the 2.4 since its in the car what the heck but let me ask you this where can i find the parts to build the bottom end?..also when you say the dohc head that just bolts right onto a sohc motor? i can use all existing parts from the sohc head tb,intake, etc

agreed, i'm going through the same build right now, figure out what you want and buy another block if you dont want the down time on your own motor

An extra engine or 6 never hurts...

If you have problems getting a spare there's a few in a local yard I found.
    Its rife with 4G63 & 4G64's.
We've been plucking them like machines over the last month or 2.
In some places they are already tedious to find.
