Tranny ECU

Can someone refresh my memory on which box under the center dash console is the ECU for the A/T tranny. Since im now 5spd i have no use for it and would like to unplug and or remove it.

in my car, the ecu is mounted flat with the harness coming out towards the passenger side. the TCU is mounted perpendicular to the floor on the side wall inside the dash. it's about 6" below the bottom DIN slot a couple feet back into the dash. only way i could access it was to get on the passenger-side floor and stick my hands through.

edit: shit, even better:

there it is. i disconnected mine, but havn't removed it.

mmmm there's the main nitrous line....i miss my juice

i'm pretty sure thats not it.
cause that box is in my GS which is 5 speed from the factory.

one of the gold boxes(i ran the part numbers) is a power steering control module(brain for the speed sensitive variable assist rack and pinion)
its very small though.

also you will find the mpfi relay under there.

that grey box in the picture is the cruise control box i think. but don't quote me

Pull the tray out of the arm rest. There is a box in there with some red wire covers in it (at least mine are red) I think that is the one for the trans

nope thats your SRS airbag unit
don't touch it

and subsequently
don't touch ANY wiring that is done in RED LOOM.
as thats all SRS wiring.

lets see... i recently saw a 7g auto with the trans computer haning out (it had been replaced). it was hanging from the drivers side of the center stack right next to the accelerator pedal. take a look in that region...
