I have noticed this problem on some other 8g's I have seen. On my g/f's 8g...the upper dash panel which is made of plastic is cracking in 2 different places. Not sure why Mitsu decided to fit a plastic dash piece..but its cracking and its starting to look like a eyesore. For those that have removed a 8g dash ,is this upper plastic piece a seperate piece from the dash assembly? I am looking to make a fiberglass version of it....and if its seperate, I could easily fabricate a fiberglass version.

Lol...I have the same problem here.I have a crack goin' right down the middle. The upper plastic is pracitcally the entire dash. The center part which I've covered in black vinyl is what can be taken apart. Pretty much you're stuck with tha crack unless you decide to replace your entire dash or like you said fiberglass it. Good Luck!

The upper dash on the 8G is one big ass piece:

I still have mine up for sale, if interested. Shipping that mofo might be a pain, though.

I've got this same problem. Cracks all over my dash. I've been looking for a new one. Mine's grey and it has the center speaker though. I'll pay to ship if anyone can get ahold of one. Thanks!

Let us know how that goes duh2150. I'm trying to figure out just what I'm gonna do with mine. Some people paint, some wrap, a few fiberglass. I don't know what's best. I know what's easiest. I want to paint, so maybe post pics if you can get it to hold and cover with the paint. Thanks!
