Oh I've noticed the emissions standards, since I'm gonna be driving the car to British Columbia as a gift to my bro, I'm just assuming the emissions standard also makes the car slowER, am I wrong?
It is also regularly serviced, 30k beginning miles as a fleet car, I'm assuming that has something to do with the army or what, correct me if I'm wrong. Now has 85k clicks.
No recalls still require repair? Does that mean "No recalls, still require repair" or "No recalls still require repair?"
I want to know everything I can about this car, so it doesn't break down on my bro. Thanks, I know I can count on the g'crew
sound like a decent buy, i dont know of any hidden costs, tax title registration... but being you are in canada you may have to pay some type of customs charge not sure tho
85k miles, you think it's near the end of its life?Originally Posted by rez887
No, you just need to change the timing belts and you shouldn't have any problem with it.Originally Posted by j.taruc

x2. You can probably can sweet talk the dealer down a bit considering it's a 2001 and it's most likely past factory warranty.Originally Posted by thebirdman13
80k miles is nothing. There are a few 8G's on here with around 150-250k miles. It's all about properly maintaining the vehicle. People say the 8G Auto tranny will die eventually, but not if you keep up with the fluid changes, and make sure everything is good. That being said, the tranny does suck though.
If I were you, I'd buy the car but haggle to get the price down.
Moonroof, sunroof, no roof. Anything is better than what some of us stare at. (The ceiling)
Agreed with all the above. I'd go for it.
Any tips on sweet talking the dealer down?Originally Posted by Calipso

Oh and the warranty is expired. How much do you think I can rock them for in my situation? Max I can get or the amount I can get knocked off even by pushing it?
All the comments are helpful I've got an appointment tomorrow afterhours, if it's still there I'm going to buy it forsure!

Yeah go in and look at the car, let him pitch it too you, and when you are talking about a price, offer him a few hundred lower than listed. BY saying "I have xxx.xx amount to spend on the car right now."
He will say "I'm sorry I can't do that [some lame excuse]"
Then say thank you and start to leave, 7 out of 10 times they will stop you, and tell you that they can work something out. If worse comes to worse you can just come back the next day and buy it, you have nothing to lose.
