SMOKING PROBLEM!!

MY 8g GALANT SMOKES A LIL WHEN I LET IT IDEAL FOR A WHILE, AND AFTER A TAKE OFF AND IT CLEARS THE SMOKE OUT IT DOESN'T DO IT ANYMORE, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, THE CAR STILL RUNS GREAT I LOVE IT, BUT I WOULD JUST LIKE TO FIX THIS SMOKE. THANKS GUYS

what color is it (I mean the smoke)?

I had a similar (if not the same) problem with my 99 gtz. It would smoke a little at start up and after sitting still and idleing for a while, like at a redlight. After many calls to local shops and the dealer, I rolled the dice on getting the valve seals replaced (this is what the dealer thought the problem was.) Glad to say that the problem was fixed.......oh, and the engine only had about 90k miles on it. I asked the dealer why the seals would fail at such an early milage and he said that the 99 seals were of a poor design, but they had been redigned on later years......
