I don't think so Az. It's designed primarily to keep water and such out of the CAI. But on the short ram, I couldn't see the need for it. It doesn't dissipate that much heat to make it worthwhile.

i dunno if this might work or not but with the new short ram intakes you might want a heat shield possibly just cuz its sitting next to the headers. but then that theory might not work at all since the environment would be hot anyways. nonetheless, its there mainly for looks. i have a short ram intake, and my heat shield for it is on its way here. the only reason i got it was that without it, my horn for the alarm would rub a hole into the air filter over time. and thats not good at all

I have a short ram and I also have a heat shield coming soon from Blitz. I'll let you know if it did anything. I'm hoping it changes the sound.
