all i need is the adapter you know where i could get only that

i'd jsut str8 up stick with procarparts. uhm other retailers sell the adaptor alone for 30-50 dollars. u can contact injen aem or weapon-r and ask for a replacement adaptor too but yea the ones on pro car parts IMO are the best for the money. they are cheap and they don't have that monster size opening so it would be easier to build an intake

heres that guys addy [email protected] Just email him and ask him if he's still selling the adapters for the 19xx Mitsu Galant by themselves. He should sell you one for 9 bucks. It's gonna have a 3 inch opening, instead of the 4 inch like everyone else seems to have, but it'll still work... Goodluck

that would be more helpful anyway if u were to go the CAI route cause that pipe is 3in and you would not hafta get the "Ghetto" home depot fitting...you could use any ole 3" rubber fitting

Here's some places I found for the adapter...

    http://www.bestautopartsonline.com/air_int...ake_systems.htm

    http://www.nextcollection.com/html/ORD-Aut...o-1707-none.cfm

    http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-Auto~Pe...tem-No-1707.htm

From the prices I see... better off going Ebay and getting an extra filter for the same price.

    Fraid not bro.

You need a 4" filter opening for the Mitsu MAS adapter. You can use the 3" filter if you do a CAI though.

Wait! Actually there is a way....

You can go get a Home Depot 4"-3" reducer. Hook the 4" side up to the MAS adapter, then connect the filter straight on to that. Would not be the best setup in the world

If you'd have to resort to what stated above, just hold out and get yourself a civic short ram tube or something similar. Then you'd have instant CAI

2 true, ur forgetting something. the reducer is soft...the opening in the filer is...soft. so yea soft+soft=not good connection. he's gonna need to get some kinda piece to go in between the two pieces. best way is to get either a new filter or a new adaptor. but if u wanan keep them both get a cai or go down to home depot with the parts and play around...

AH yes, but you also forget something Allen. The rubber on both of those two items I would not catagorize as "soft", they are stiff as hell. I don't have an clamp on my filter because it's so hard to get on there in the first place there is no way it could fall off or even shift. Also, on that point, rubber on rubber causes friction therefore you would barely have to tighten them to keep them together given that the fitment was snug.
As I said before though, "not the best setup in the world "

Actually that's about the crapiest setup I can think of

1 or 2 short screws through the ruber, and your set.
