    5spd application question

hi i called my local junkyard today and asked for a 5spd tranny out of a 00 eclipse gs and they said they didnt have any but they said they have an 03 eclipse gs 5spd but he said the tranny(even though its the same thing at least i thought) wont fit......i thought that i could get a 5spd tranny out of a 00-03 eclipse 4cyl to fit my 00 galant 4cyl .....unless the blocks are cast differently and the tranny holes wont fit (fill me in if i am wrong )...... so if i have a 00 galant do i need to get a 00 eclipse 5spd or will other years work???

    thanks for the help...

I think there is a difference in the vehicle speed sensor. The transmissions are mechanically no different and the bolt pattern is the same.

Thats what it is I would asume, its looking for a different pulse count, which some reworking of sensors should cure that.
