235mm wide
etc...
the 40 is the aspect ratio... the sidewall is 40% as tall as the tire is wide.
since on the subject. what does the Z mean. like 235/40Z size tire.
The letter is how much speed the tire is made for. A Z rated tire is good for high speeds, that is why most sports cars have Z rated tires. As a matter of fact, I have Z rated tires on my Galant.

hey i got family in va beach so dont try 145+ there please. btw va beach is nice and cheap. my brother got a 2 bedroom 2 bath townhouse for 650/month. shit i'm jealous. i was paying 650 for a 1 bedroom square.
