the 1 2 3 d are not meant to be abused with an auto tranny but if you would like to keep racing now is the perfect opportunity to go 5 spd

Thats why the thread is named bitchin' instead of damnit, cause now my dad doesnt have an excuse to not let me.

The 6k rpm neutral drops havent helped either.

Dude dont be, I'm excited, I'm seriously sitting here smileing.

Does it make sense that the trans wont shift automatically, and seems to start in second and not want to upshift unless I manually go from second to 3rd.

I know I've only been talking about doing it for 2 years now, actually maybe even longer. I'm so excited.

Back from the dead, as I just joined the club... I was just about to order new solenoids (C&D went) but I want to make sure I'm not just throwing out money through the window. Is there any way of telling if my pump is gone too without actually pulling the trans? The fluid is brown (was pink like a month or two ago) but I see no shavings yet. I would greatly appreciate your take on this.

If it's indeed is shot, I'd much rather save every penny for a 5spd.

    my thread here: https://www.thegalantcenter.org/show...light=solenoid

you normally can check the pressure , but since your solenoids are shot , just throw that out the window, because you dont have good constant pressure anywhere in the valvebody now.as for the brown color it could be moisure in your tranny or water, and even a sign of a bad thing to happen soon , i say get the solenoids and drain and fill the system and take the car to a tranny place and have them flush out the tranny brown is bad , rusting, water , corrosion, not good.
