    Electrical problems

    I've got a problem with my galant 1,8 91.mod
When the engine is running the car doesn't charge the battery. I've measured the charging voltage, and it's 11,38 volts (over the battery poles). When i measure between the battery - and the generators +, is roughly 15 volts. The dynamo has got a built in regulator, is it broken? I've tried to change the brushes in the dynamo, but it didn't help. The car doesn't seem to have power leakage to the chassis. The lights on the dashboard dim when i use the headlights. Very annoying problem!

I had the same problem. You should change your alternator, actually maybe it could do if you just change your "diode plate" in the alternator.

It isn't a cheap repair, but you should do it as soon as possible, becouse if your baterry runs out of power you'll have to chage it too.

    So long...
