anything u can do with an 8g u can do with a 7g for the most part. and theyre both pretty hard to modify

It was a stick, and he drove it like he stole it. To me, that thing felt like a sports car. We've had a galant in the family since. My mom bought mine brand new as a present to herself for finishing nursing school. I got it passed down to me a couple of months before I joined TGC because we started going deep into the supra project, and I needed another car, my mom had a nice new RAV4 anyways. My uncles old 7G was eventually sold because at 224,000 miles, the tranny went out, and the car just had a lot of repairs that needed to be done. I regret it now, because now that I have my galant for a daily, I want to build one after my supra is done.

For powertrain, drivetrain, and suspension...pretty much everything for a 2g can work on a 7g.
Now for interior and exterior...you kinda have to get creative on your part since 7g's don't have tons of asthetic options such as body kits, aero enhancements, lighting etc etc aftermarket options. As for JDM parts....its hard to find parts also.

i agree with what they have said.
fortunately here in the Philippines there are tons of jdm parts.
as of aesthetics, i agree that bodykits are hard to find but you could be creative and modify it.
it's always better to photoshop your ideas first to lessen expenses.
if your satisfied with the design and look of the bodykit and other stuff you want then start buyin.
that's what i did to my 7g and i'm pretty satisfied :D

i used the kaminari bodykit for a 7th gen honda civic and it turned out ok :D
as for the performance mods there are aftermarket, 2g eclipse and modifying parts.
its possible that the 7th gen galant could be an "all show and all go car". :D
Im very happy with my 7g... Ive gotten great results performance wise for my money tied up in it....
Performance:
lightweight flywheel
stage 2 clutch
1g 60mm tb
custom CAI
balance shaft delete
5 speed swap
ported and polished head
exterior:
Streetconcept.com front bumper
shogun side skirts
shogun rear
adr 18'' competition 7 rims with falken 225/40/18 tires
cleared corners
8g spoiler
35% tint up front and 20% the rest of the way
Suspension:
K-Sport coilovers! (man i love them!)
Im very satisfied with the performance of my car. Before i did anything to it i ran like a 12 in the 1/8th track but after i did everything i ran a 10.34 (ive seen stock srt-4's run 10.50's consistantly)
when it comes to styles there are:
custom, conversion, vipu and race.
it is really up to you. :D

The 7G is a lot sleeker looking to me, I personally plan on the sleeper route. I want it to be fast but look stock. I think as far as the stock body the 7g is just sexy. Which is why we, in these threads, defend them so much. It takes some crativity and actual forethought modding a 7 vs an 8. While it may be difficult to mod an 8G it is a huge pain in the ass to mod a 7....but the results net you a much more interesting vehicle. Unless you are droppin coin like Cali, Billet and Reelax of course. My opinion, and I am sure as you have seen, everyone else...get a 7G for a project. You wont be disappointed! Here is mine:
5 spd swap
lightened flyheel
LSD Inert
metal shift bushings
short shifter
KYB AGX adjustable shocks
Eibach Pro Kit
ENergy Graphite suspension bushings
17 RS Racing wheels
Brembo Slotted rotors and Akebono pads
2.5" exhaust with Remus muffler
Short ram intake
"Why fart and waste it when you can burp and taste it!"
