Pics of my '94 E54A Galant VX-R MIVEC

Hey guys, thought I would post up my recent pics of my MIVEC Galant. I've finally got it back together and running and it's now ready to sell.

The powerplant - roaring 6A12 quad cam 24 valve MIVEC-MD beast:

WTF? Factory twin pot calipers and 276mm rotors on a 4 lug setup? *drool*

Nice ride man, that engine bay is spotless, jeebus!

Yup she's all factory. It has vented rear brakes too. Suspension/brakes is the same as the E84A twin turbo VR-4. Those same brakes are found on the E38A/E39A Galant VR-4 and the Lancer Evolution I, II and III. The same calipers are used on Pajero, Diamante etc with 5 stud rotors.

Thanks guys yeah she's a minter alright. Has all the feature but I'm still having a hard time trying to get a buyer for it. I'm offering it for NZ$3000 which is about US$2400 and no one is biting.

Problem is our country is just so flooded with used Japanese imports the second hand car market isn't really great when it comes to holding their value. You can pick up some really good cars for so little these days.

It needs to go so I can fund the rest of the engine rebuild for my '93 VX-R which is 5 speed - it doesn't have sunroof, ABS etc so it's a bit lighter which is better.

It's not as fast as my 5 speed one but it's no slug either. The 6A12 isn't a torque monster down low so it takes a bit of revs before she really gets up and goes. For a near 1300kgs 2L non turbo sedan she goes pretty well. The auto does let it down a little bit though. I would estimate it could do a high 15/low 16 sec 1/4 mile in stock trim. The manual would easily do a low/flat 15 sec 1/4 mile.
