We just have regular autos, no tiptronics for us, but a lot of guys here have 5 speed conversions. I don't know what kind of work it would take to convert yours unfortunately.
do any american galants have tiptronic auto transmissions or do u have just plain autos?
i am wondering if it is worth even thinking about ever converting to 5 speed.
i have the 4 speed tiptronic auto right now.
which i realise is no where near the same as a manual, i just have more control of my rev range. should i be happy with this? or eventuallly convert? thoughts please

totally worth it, changes the entire car into a completely different animal
definitely go manual swap if performance is ur desire.
yeh but the problem to start with is that its hard enough to find manuals. so i dont no how easy it would be to get a trans form a wrecker. if they were as ocmman as autos i probly would of bought one in the first palce but oh well.
im happy with my tiptronic for the moment, easy to to do things while driving lol
i just did someones 5spd swap over the weekend and you can ask him if its worth it!!!

yeh but teh 4speed tiptronic IS the Fence. it cant make up its dman mind
First tiptronic I've owned, scratch, first auto I've owned.
I like it for town driving which is mainly what I do.
Don't think I'll do the five speed swap unless/until it craps out...All I plan to do is take it to the drags now and again.
I'm enjoying the leisure hehe
Totally not worth doing here man.... for what you'd pay to do the conversion you could pick up a manual VR-4
1994 Galant VR-4 GOKUH ( 230kw atw )
2000 Legnum VR-4 ( Daily, 155.5kw atw )
1997 Legnum VR-4 - Yes Another one
1995 FTO - V6 Mivec 200hp
Yeah, did I mention your car sucks :P
Just jokes man, I wouldn't be spending big bucks on it that's all.
