    Dashboard warped - need advice!

My apologies if I'm rehashing an old subject. My 7G's dashboard has been gradually warping and curling away from the defroster vents near the windshield. I heard of someone trying to fix this problem using a heat gun (if you have one..), a weight and epoxy to glue the dash back in place. From what I understand this method did not have much success, so if you know of a good solution please advise.

If total replacement is the answer; please respond with the name of a place that can supply a new dash without breaking the bank. If they are in Southern California, all the better!

    Thanks in advance

OK well you find your local junk yard. Then you find a 7 gen. Then you take the old dash out. 100 bucks max!

Then we just have to worry about dashboards cracking:smt116

Alot of 7g's suffer from dashboards warping after some time...its just poor quality control.:( Though my old 95 7g dash is still MINT...actually I still have it in the attic. Its a dark dark blue color, maybe one day when I just get sick of the grey interior I have now and switch it up.

8g is a bigger car in general.

More metals used to strengthen overall integrity of the 8g to make it much safer than a 7g and more insulation to insulate noise from outside.

Those factors alone make the 8g a heavier car.

carpets look nasty. the air bag only happens to some poeple but is not fixable. you have to buy a new one.

the dash is easy. just put some super glue gel under it and push down. i did it to mine like 4 years ago and it's still holding.

the reason it happens is the dash drys out. i use armorall to condition it every couple months.

I used a little Gorilla Glue and some weights. Now it looks good as new:D

Careful not to use too much..that glue expands like crazy

the top of my airbag is the worst, can anyone verify if the airbag opens from the top or bottom? don't wanna superglue the top and then find out it opens from the top
