Hi!! I am having problems finding a scan tool or a code reader for my galant 1995!! The sticker in the car have 1995 , i checked the vin in carfax and it said it is 1995 , but the car have a 16 pin plug so my question is the car is obd 1 or 2?
Its not that bad, go to Autozone and there you can rent one for free (essentially) as long as you bring it back. They can tell you if your OBD 1 or 2. Cars after '96 are OBD 2 but some cars as old as '94 are OBD 2 as well so your in the grey area. Just go to Autozone and they will hook you up.
EDIT: I believe you are OBD 1.5

95 Eclipse GST and GSX are OBD2, but this is as far as it goes. Galants are different
You car was sold in 95, but its made in 94, so its OBD1.5 and you cant read the codes with any scan tool. There are some but they are too expensive.
