I would like 2 know if i go to the dealer and ask for a gs timing kit with the water pump kit. Would they have them or they just make them.

best bet,if they dont have it you may have to order aftermarket through your local shops. Some random none OEM brand.

Water pump, tensioners and pulleys are the same for 94 Galant DOHC and SOHC.All you need is the two 2.4L DOHC cam gears and the DOHC timing belt.

The swap is easy and the reason why many people dont do it is because we cant fire the spark plugs, because we have distributor and the usual setup on DOHC head is coil packs which to be done you need another ECU that produces 2 signals and the stock Galants ECU makes only one signal that goes to the power transistor in the distributor.

Now, because you have 96 galant which is OBD2, it will be easier to get 95-99 Eclipse Spyder 2.4L Sohc ECU and rewire it. It runs the same size injectors, just need to add a couple of wires and repin a few ECU pins. Then comes the 2g GST or GSX Eclipse ECU which is a a little more complicated, because it has knock sensor, boost solenoid and it runs on 450cc injectors which are low impedance. Then comes the 1g ECU, but it involves alot of work and its unusual for OBD2 car to run OBD1 ECU because of not being able to get scanned when passing emissions. But if you would like to try this route - here is the link:

Lol mko I already gave up, but nice to see someone still trying to help.

All I can say is your local dealer will rape you out the pocket for those parts, order it else where. I only go to them if there's some important missing bolt I need asap.
