CATBACK FOR THE 4BANGER FROM INJEN

OK I sent an email to Ptuning in regards to a catback they have out for the v6 and if they were making plans for 4banger. Here's what they had to say:

Dear Carlos Guardado,

YOUR QUESTION:
Just wondering if there is any plans for a I4 catback exhaust for the Galant.
I notice you guys are going to be offerring one for the V6.
PTUNING CATBACK FOR THE V6

OUR RESPONSE:
Hello Carlos,

We are currently working with a representative at Injen. If there is enough
interest in this item, we will persuade Injen to begin producing a cat-back for
the 2000+ Galant V6. Therefore, if you or anyone you know who are interested in
this item, please submit your email. We will use the email submissions to
present to Injen on the number of interested customers.

Alright You know what that means. Anyone that would like a quality catback for the 4banger needs to makes their interest know to Ptuning, and I would also say Injen. So start typing.

the catback should fit the i4 models also. the only problem i would see is with the ehxaust note and how it could be affected by the i4 motor using v6 sized piping. but that isn't a fitment issue just a possible sound issue

I actually made a post about this in the old forum but no one commented on it and the post was quickly lost. I am glad the subject is coming up again. I noticed in a small ad in the back of SuperStreet its had "Injen Exhaust Systems Soon" like I said I mention'd this and also emailed Injen directly but recieved no responce. They probably wanted to keep it under wraps. Good Job Los

I agree with Pinoy if your going to mod your I4 why not take that small stepup to size which is what..2.5'? either way Depending on price should decide if its worth getting that done vs custom. Los please remember you can get the catback done for 175 for 2.5" Custom of course that price does not include the muffler it self. Keep that in mind since your in Maryland

i looked on ptuning a lil more and i got some info.

i looked at the part numbers for both the eclipse and the galant. they differ so im guessing this is truly an exhaust for the galant and not some mistake from ptuning thinking we can share the parts.

but yea when look @ the eclipse's exhuast page, it gave the price. $560 dollars.

ok i did more research. i went to one of my favorite online stores, adventon.com. they dont' ahve the galatn exhaust but they do have the one for the eclipse. its $347. if u email them. (im about to email them) they might be able to get teh galant too, when it comes out.

but yea $347 isn't that bad. i mean bernard mentions getting a catback done locally for 175. so if u got a muffler that was 175 too, it would be the same price as the injen if u bought it at adventon.

noetheless, even if it was 347 or 600 or hell even 100 dollars its about the exhaust note that most of u guys are worried about. and yea only time can tell how the note from this exhaust is gonna sound like.

*edit*

this is what i got from adventon. doesn't say much bit it does show they read my email

We will be selling the Injen Exhaust shortly. Please keep checking back on Adventon.com

that would be great if adventon gets them for so cheap. ive been waiting for something like this to come out before i bought a muffler.

just out of curiosity i dont know to much about different types of exhaust systems but would this be the our best exhaut system out for use? can some give me some comparisons on hp?

Throughout the exhaust warz dont expect to get any difference (significant difference) in whp output, The is due to them all doing the same exact thing. The differences are the exhaust db tones, some like it deeper the kind that you can feel in your knees lol (greddy, hks the expensive makers) Then there are others that could care less about labels or what kind of parts they get there hands on just as long as there are results. And lastly some that have no mods.... The question is which one are you?

Leadfoot: I swear if you ask "will it fit my 02" My damn come on I can think of 5 other posts within the last two months where you asked it...YES IT WILL FIT you car is a 8th gen galant no difference......any one that points out the meaningless little difference will get virtually smacked...if your close enough physically

my question is would the v6 application work well with a forced induction i4 motor? because the piping on the v6 is obviously larger in diameter i would assume it would work with a f.i. i4. the majority of people tell me that i should get a 2.5" mandrel bent cat-back when i get my motor installed.

well i personally think it depends on the mods and how much hp u want...most dsmers use 3 inch turbo back or 2.5 downpipe and 3in catback...i think i depends on application...id do 3 but thats me...most jdm powerd turbo cars come stock 2.5 in exhaust( evo, silvia, 2.0 skyline)...my .02c

I know it might sound crazy but I have a 4 cyl and was wondering if it was possible to put dual racing mufflers on it. It might be going overboard being it is only a 4 cyl but since it is a mid-size sedan it would probably look better with two mufflers instead of just one.
