What ist the best Oil Filter for our 8G?

Just wondering what is the best oil filter to go with Mobil 1 Synthetic?

My friend took a look at my mine, and said that I might need to change it.

You should always change it when you change your oil. If you've gone with Mobil 1 oil why not just go ahead and pick up the Mobil 1 filter while you're there? Sometimes they sell them together though I do realize often they do not.

Just use FRAM and if you want use there Double Guard. I have been using it for years and haven't had any problems. But it does give me 50hp.......lol

I use mobile one, full senthetic, and the mobile one full syntehtic type oil filter, costs twice as much, and is supposed to flow better than standard - but only for full synthetics.

trust me, fram filters are crap.

believe it or not, ive had to overhaul 2 engines in my 11 years strictly due to fram oil filters.
the cheap-ass paper element inside them has a tendency to fall apart and block internal engine passages.

and im not bullshitting you, either.
The mitsu filters are definatly the highest quality filter you can put on your car, and im not just saying that to be difficult.

I see. So what is the factory filter made out of and what makes it better?

This is something new to me. I never thought that something as little as a oil filter can be a big deal. That is why I am asking all the questions. I know you are not being difficult. You have alot of info to give.

i honestly have no idea what theyre made of. But it is unbelievable the amount of problems we fix with mitsu filters. Hell, mitsu issued a bulletin several years ago regarding lifter noise and aftermarket filters.

Besides, the price difference between mitsu and non-mitsu filters is negligable.

IMO frams was a bad experience, one time i was changing the oil and the "sure grip" wasn't such a sure grip at all. so i stuck a screw driver through the filter to get it out

im with you brews, fram is shitty because their sure grip[ crap isn't all true, but you only having overhaul 2 engines in 11 years isn't much

They have a fram filter factory next to the building i work in...and I wouldnt trust anything that the people i see working there make. Not only that, but they have shitty quality control. I was wondering if the K&N filters would be good though. Anyone?

    K&N

The K&N oil filters are available for the 8g and I've been usining those with full synth without a problem. Time will tell. For you Fram lovers, I smell an engine GB in your future 8)
