i just got the bkr5es from advanced auto parts
I've used the search function on this, but I wanted to make sure of this. At Autozone they do not have the NGK Original Copper plugs in stock, however they have NGK V Power Copper plugs in stock for the exact same price. My 7g is the 4G64 and I know I'm supposed to use NGK Copper plugs. Just wanted to make sure the V Power plugs would work just as well as the NGK Original Copper plugs.

Well, I'm out of town right now, and my buddy works at AutoZone, so I just had him bring four of the NGK V Power Coppers to my house with some dialectic grease when he got off work so I can swap them out tomorrow. I have a feeling that the guy who replaced the engine before I bought the car didn't put NGK in. From what I've been reading, these engines tend to like the NGK moreso than the other plugs.
My F150 was the same way. It did not like any other plugs except for Autolite and Motorcraft(both plugs are manufactured in the same facility using the same technique).
Do not buy. Your car will run like shit. And youll be throwing multiple CEL codes. Trust me. I know. VPowers are not made for the Galant. I found out the hard way.
i have them i don't have a problem. its because your v6

2000 Mitsu Galant, 4g64/Kia Head, 5 Speed, Evo 8 turbo
2000 Ford Crown Vic, DailyDriver
Spark Plug Budget (NGK recommended)
NGK Platinums for V6- harder to get to so might as well use longer lasting Platinums on V6es.
NGK V Power for 4g64- easier access on 4 banger= stress free swaps with an economical price.

I pulled the plugs out of the engine today. Cheap spark plug wires suck when the boot comes off from the shaft part and stays around the spark plug. Took me about an hour to get the plugs out of the engine, gapped, greased, and replaced. I pulled out NGK Platinums and they had average wear. I put the V Power Copper plugs in and it starts a lot better and the gas mileage is a bit better. Next up is NGK plug wires, and replace the cap and rotor, and front and rear motors mounts. Otherwise, it's a good mechanically sound car except for the auto tranny..
i used NGK V-power for years, finally switched back to standard plain-jane plugs due to troubleshooting the usual onlsaught of problems
