    4G64 Turbo...

This is just to inform everyone that I found a company that makes a turbo kit for our motor. I wasn't aware that anyone did so I figured I'd share. I'm seriously considering getting it. If anyone else is interested here's the site Xtech Engineering. Just click on products and it's on the left.

Not a bad price realistically, but the big downer is that the kit is for the CURRENT 8g 4g64 which is flipped 180 degrees from ours.

Under there service section they say that they also do Custom exhaust. I emails them to see what they could do for us in manfacturing a cat back system. they only have the capabilty for doing mandral bends up to 3 inches that should not be to much of a problem staying under 3 inches.

Where does it say it is for the "Current 4G64"??? I couldn't find that listed anywhere on the page.

I just deduced it from the fact that the kit will also work for the Stratus, which has similar (maybe the same?) motor as the 8g.

    neither does the 8g...automatic/sportronic

im almost positive they could make a kit for us, the 8g engine isnt too different from ours, and its a turbo kit, pretty much universal...

This might be a very stupid question, but I know sh*t about turbo's, or tranny's...so here we go.

Why would it matter what kind of tranny you have? nothing from the turbo bolts up to the tranny....

    am i wrong?

Tranny is responsible for putting the engine power to the wheels.
Too much power will destroy a weak tranny.
It is all about heat displacement, gear ratios and tolerances. If you have an engine that kicks out 500 foot pounds of torque on a stock 4g64 tranny you will rip through it like a fat kid on ice. You need something with more strength to let the power move to the wheels.
