coilovers and springs

Are coilovers and springs put on the same way? I seen a how to on installing springs, and I am getting coilovers and was wondering could they did the same way.

Basically yes.

Only big difference is that the coil hat replaces the spring silencer, you just throw them out. If you have no idea what I am talking about, don't worry about it...
