my speedo stop working any ideas

ok i have a 94 auto galant one day i was driving to school and at first it was alright but when i reached the 40 mph my speedometer went from 40 to 0 then to 40 and then to 100 and soundenlly 0 that happen like 1 week ago and my speedo is in 0 everything else works just fine.


any ideas??

go to a junk yard and buy another one used.

The problem is electrical. You need to check your connections on the speed sensor which is located on the transmission. If you find the connections are fine, pick yourself up a speed sensor and replace it. That is the likely solution to your problem.

problem is either the speed sensor or the sensor gear, just replaced mine
