    1999 galant 2.4 egr testing?

    any one know how to test egr on 1999 galant 2.4 to see if its working thanks for any help

    I took my galant to Autozone they checked the codes with their code reader and it showed the EGR was not working right so Im going to take it out and try to clean it first and put it back in I hope the check engine light gos out if not I need to replace the EGR.

    Take the EGR off and use a flat head screw driver to move the valve if it moves freely then it should be working fine but if it doesnt then i would replace it

    If it is still good when you take it off soak it in a solvent for 24 hours. It will come out brand new...
