Wonder what they gonna do now
Not really, but was expected it around the corner...
Report: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Galant, May Die In 2013
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...e-in-2013.html
Mitsubishi’s mid-size offerings, already long in the tooth and outdated, may have to soldier on to 2013, after which point they will be unceremoniously executed as Mitsubishi shifts its focus from heavy, lumbering mid-size cars to small vehicles and electric powertrains.
Mitsubishi is currently lacking in capital, and is investing all of its cash in the development of a new global small car, that is slated to be production-ready by late 2012. Until then, the U.S. Mitsubishi range will undergo no changes, save for the introduction of the Outlander Sport and iMIEV.
With no mainstream product in sight for another years, it will be a tough road for Mitsubishi to keep selling cars in the United States as the competition gets better and better.

maybe if they made the g nice agian they wouldnt have this problem
^^That's ridiculous corey lol
well the galant has allready been replaced by the lancer in japan (known as galant foritis) and some other markets. the current galant 9g and eclipse 4g were designed by MMNA R&D which has since been ended as all new mitsus are being designed in japan. this is expected, and like i said before, since the normal, illinois plant is allready tooled up to produce these cars, they will continue to produce them until they are too stale to continue.
the next version of the eclipse will probably go by another name and the concept RA looked the part, although no guarantee they will ever produce it.
hahaha^
K so the Lancers are gonna be renamed to Galant Fortisis and the Ralliart to Lancer Evolution right?

I remember reading somewhere that starting in '11 or '12 they were going to change them in the US market as well.
meh no surprise there
as long as we get a new car that is small nimble and looks like a galant i dont give a shit what its called.
i cant wait to see what they are developing.
btw this is great news to me i thought mitsu was gunna go down the "bigger is better" route..
Well right now it seems they're going the Eco friendly route with imev. Mitsu has put a lot of their marbles behind that hoping it will be the next big thing since it's suppose to get some crazy high mileage. So I would expect that the galant might die and the eclipse still has at least 1 generation left in it.
I remember just drooling over that car. The wheels were MASSIVE, the fenders were flared like crazy, and the brakes were just huge. Everything was awesome
