    evo cams

    has anyone put evo cams into the sonata/optima head? i was looking around and on the 7g with the older sonata they had to use mitsu caps is that the same with the newer(99-05 sonata) ones too?

    That doesnt make any sense. Cam caps arent interchangable between heads. Of course you could force them to fit, but your not supposed to. The cam caps are actually cast as part of the head, cut from the head, machined and then bolted on. This is the same reason you cant swap the caps around on the same head, each one is only meant to be in one place.

    On a side not, yes there are guys on c3g using EVO cams in the optima head with no problems. I know of an EVO running a complete sonata engine with EVO cams in the head.

    alright thanks and i didnt get it either but if you search sonata head youl find a thread on here that says they had to change the caps to make mitsu cams work but thats for the 7g. but that doesnt affect me thanks for letting me know.

    im using 272 BC for an evo 8 on my kia head no problems

    when you timed them did you line them up to the kia timing marks?

    yeah the kia motor is a 4g64 block with a 4g63 head on it (basically)
