225s should fit no problem right?

I just bought some Kumho Ecsta Asx tires 225/45 17 to go on my evo 9 wheels which currently had 215s on them. From what i am reading, there are mixed reviews as to whether 225s rub or not. Based on the specs of the wheels, do you think they will rub or should i be fine?

well yeah...i obviously knew about all this, the reason i brought the question up is because if you search 225s in the search there are many posts from people asking the same question and people say that they should fit no problem and then in other posts people are saying they will rub. According to the place that i was going to have put the tires on, they said that the 215s were already rubbing and that is why i question what they say because im pretty positive they werent. That is the only reason why this question arose, i didnt just go and buy these tires without looking through threads and making sure they would fit. I am doing a lotttt more reading than posting, as it is pretty clear since i have so few posts, so dont think i havent looked around and over threads many times

yeah im pretty sure its 225/45, I have 235's and I need to roll my rear fenders pretty bad.

they will fit. u might need to roll your rear fenders depending on how low you are dropped or how much your rear suspension travels (soft springs/blown shocks). u will definitely have to roll rear fenders if you want to camber correct w/ a drop.

this guy at the shop said my 215s were rubbing, which i am pretty sure they aren't. I am on coilovers and there is about 1 inch clearance between top of tire and start of fender if that helps

You might rub something at full lock...I think you'll be fine though

At least I was ok on 17x8 +40 with 225's except a light rub at full lock

    a pic of fitment
