    Valve Cover Gasket orientation

I took the valve cover off again to investigate the oil leak and the old one was torn. It wasn't the original but I need help making sure I put the new one on correctly.

I've got a Fel-Pro one from Autozone. There are two sides to the gasket, one side is flat and the other side has a square raised spot where the screw holes are.

I just need to be 100% sure if the raised square spots go against the valve cover or the engine.

I have the same one but didn't notice a difference. Are you sure you can flip it cause I thought it only went on one way.

The Square spots go to the valve cover side make sure u also use a lil bit of the special silicone where the bolts go on both sides valve and engine. another thing before u install the new one make sure u clean as much as u can around the valve cover and u install the gasket make sure its snug in there

Thanks! Hopefully this will be the end of the oil leakage.
